Business Help For Divine Openings Givers

Simple, Simple

If you want clients, counsel and soothe people on the Forum. If your vibration is in alignment, and you sign as a Divine Openings Giver with your email, they may contact you for sessions if you're letting it in. Have them pay for the session before you begin chatting, or you could be swamped by free counseling.

A Word About Marketing Resistance

Many people resist promoting themselves, and this is their block to success. Many say they want someone else to do it all, but until you are "discovered," you must get yourself out there so you can be discovered.

Get over marketing fear or resistance and ask "How can I make it a fun game?" "How can I get in front of as many people as possible?" You can't help them if they don't find you. This is a physical world, and there are physical things to learn and do, although Grace will compound every single thing you "do." Get out there! Fail, flop, learn, succeed, innovate, change, tweak, and improve!

Crystal is a great marketing consultant
, but you must learn it yourself too, until you're earning enough to hire steady help. Crystal@LolaJones.com

From Computer Resistance To Worldwide Reach

I've been there. I didn't want to learn computer geek gook! I was adamant. So I was doing it the hard way, got tired of it, and gave up the computer resistance, thank me, thank God!

Let go of computer resistance
! It's a tech world now, which is absolutely fabulous because it levels the playing field, and lets you and me get as much attention as we're willing to go for and let in.

I make my own audios, videos, books, and site right here on my desk! It is awesome! And inexpensive!!! Being able to put fifty-one videos on YouTube by clicking a mouse a bunch of times.... with zero cost beyond the video camera? We are blessed. I actually make most of my fun videos on my iPhone now! And it is possible to upload things straight to YouTube from your phone now, and edit them on their site. Wow.

YouTube is now the world's #2 search engine. People are looking for you there.

I'm now proud to be semi-geeky. I wish I could claim full geekhood, but since I multi-task, I don't give it my full time attention!

I get help too. I call tech support. (I still resist manuals, but Mac is so intuitive, I've learned to edit movies and audios without using manuals.)

Do your part now, and you'll attract more and more help. Over the years I've added an assistant, a higher tech guy, an accountant, an SEO coach for a while, and have a list of many other contractors and experts who do things as needed.

Libraries offer computer classes free! Pick Mac or PC, whichever you have. One day at a time, and it begins to make more and more sense. Relax! Let it cook inside you a little at a time.

Take interactive live computer classes
at your level, green beginner and onward,

Gaining Website Traffic Through Google Ads
and Google Organic Search Results

GOOGLE ADS ARE A PAY PER CLICK PROGRAM:
That means you pay when someone clicks on your ad. The amount you pay is determined by the cost of the keyword the searcher entered. Crystal can be your consultant on setting this up. You hire her separately. You will not find a better consultant because she knows Divine Openings. Someone who doesn't cannot help you.

The Givers dues fund collectively spends $300 a month on Google and Yahoo/Bing ads that go only to the Givers Page, and I personally spend $400 a month that go to my home page.

Online ads work great, instantly.

If you're willing to learn the rules of the game, you could run ads for your own site. It takes constant tweaking but is FUN and productive! With ads you can pay-per-click your way straight to page one of Google searches on the first day you start!!!

I have built up over 600 keywords for my ads, and if you read up on it, you'll see how to make different campaigns for the different keywords so the ad has the keywords echoed in it. That increases your "relevancy," which takes you higher on the page without paying more.

More importantly, they must quickly see the topic they clicked about when they come to your site, or they will leave, or "bounce" off the site, thinking, "this isn't what I was looking for." If they bounce, you pay for that click even if they don't stay and purchase from you. So create different pages for different campaigns and keywords.

Make different "landing pages" for your different keyword campiagns. For example, I have a "kundalini" landing page for the kundalini keyword campaign. This reduces the "bounce rate." Once they're there looking for info about kundalini, I let them know raising kundalini happens automatically with Divine Openings, and they don't really need years of kundalini yoga. Then you link that to your main Divine Openings page and move them toward trying it.

Go see it and check out how it's done: www.DivineOpenings.com/kundalini.

Writing ads: (If you hire Crystal, she can tell you my most successful ads and you can use that copy. Pay her for her time, knowledge, and value.)

If you use Beyond Law Of Attraction
as your Google ad headline, the keyword should include Law Of Attraction, and the landing page should be about how you can teach them Law Of Attraction in a way that really, finally works for them, with the boost of Grace.

If their click on that ad goes straight to a page about Divine Openings, they think they're in the wrong place and leave, and you've spent fifty cents for nothing.

Your vibration must be in alignment with your desire first. You must know counseling or teaching is authentically you, and that you're worthy. Ads won't work if your vibration is not aligned first, so begin with a small budget, and build. I began with $50 a month, and it worked. I increased it as I got better at it. There is a learning curve for learning the Adwords rules, writing ads, choosing keywords, and much, much more.

If the seeker clicks and is not convinced and they don't call you after reading your site, or they call you and then don't come to you, you're not ready yet, not allowing it, or not clear about your calling. Not everyone is to be a healer/teacher. We need enlightened people joyfully doing computers, carpentry, and car repair too!

When they click and then buy, that's called a conversion. You want a high conversion rate and a low bounce rate.

Big keywords
for your google ads these days are 1111, spiritual healing, chakras, third eye, Abraham Hicks, and Law of Attraction. You don't have to offer what the keyword is! You're just wanting to get the attention of people who THINK that's what they need, then you tell them what does work!

The page they land on must talk first about what they were searching for, or they will bounce.
You must talk about the keyword they searched for right off when they arrive. A one page website won't work well for this more sophisticated approach unless you use just a few keywords for it. You can limit the number of keywords to what you talk about on your one page site, but it's going to limit you, because they don't know to look for what you do--they are looking for many other topics.

If you want local clients, you can ace that very quickly by using local keywords like new york or tucson (substitute your town) along with your main keywords. EX: spiritual awakening dallas, Law of Attraction dallas, spiritual healing dallas, chakra balancing dallas, spiritual counselor dallas (of course you then educate them beyond spiritual healing and working on chakras.)

Use keywords they are looking for. You can then change their mind about what they think they wanted. Of course, spiritual healing is not what they need. Tell them why on a specific landing page for that keyword. Then lead to talking about Divine Openings and why it's more cutting edge.

I put what people think they want.
You must figure out what they are searching for. They don't know to look for Divine Openings and what we offer. So you think, "What are THEY putting in the search field?" There are your keywords.

You can study and improve your use of Google adwords endlessly. They have consultants who will help you too, but take it step by step. I'm still learning after five years, but it worked from day one.

GO FOR FREE TRAFFIC IN GOOGLE ORGANIC SEARCH RESULTS
WITH SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (SEO):

You MUST study the rules of the game of Search Engine Optimization (SEO) to ace it.
Search online for the Google Search Engine Optimization Starter Guide.
It has most of the tricks to getting free traffic in free search results, also called organic search results.

Crystal knows a lot about this, as we've studied it for years now,
and she's worked on my site a lot. You can hire her direct.

I used to pay a guy monthly to coach me, and I did the actual work, but after a while, he taught me enough to do it--and I love the game. It's never ending--those who do it well never stop tweaking their site. Just do a little every week. Small, joyful, consistent steps is all anything takes to succeed.

Rather than using all the same keywords I use for my big organic search results efforts, we should spread out. There are a ton of other keywords I WISH I could go for, but one can only go for about 3 at a time and do it well. I would like to go for spiritual healing, spiritual awakening, spiritual counseling and Law of Attraction, but can't do them full-on without my main keywords suffering. I do get hits from those somehow anyway.... magic.

But you could go for those and others! I'd rather you go for OTHER keywords and we spread the influence.

Law of Attraction
is a harder one to ace, so go for it only if you're going to massively go for it and learn SEO, or your town is small and doesn't have a lot of it. If your town is small you have it made. Or use Beyond Law Of Attraction in your Google ads.

Here's my view on which keywords to go for free in organic search results, and which to go for with ads:

The keyword I chose to go for in organic search results is a rather expensive keyword if I used it for Google Ads (I'd pay over a dollar a click, so I don't use that keyword in the ads.) I went for that keyword "free" in organic search results, and I pay for the less expensive keywords in ads.

I can pay to get hits for any keyword I want to with Google adwords. I can get free hits from organic searches, but must focus on a smaller number of keywords to rank on pages 1 to 3 for them.

SEO Basics:

  • If your main site url contains your main keyword, it's hugely valuable. For example, if your BIG keyword is spiritual healing dallas, and you can get spiritualhealingdallas.com for your main url, that's big.
  • Use only 4 to 6 keywords per web page, unlike Google ads, where you can have many campaigns and many keywords.
  • A phrase is a keyword. Spiritual retreats california is one keyword.
  • In each page's metatags, separate your keywords with commas: Spiritual retreats california, spiritual healing, law of attraction, kundalini, third eye.
  • A plural makes it an entirely different keyword. Healers is a different keyword than healer. Awaken and awakening are different keywords.
  • Repeat your main keyword on every page of your site, but don't use the same whole list of keywords for every page. Vary it to fit the page.
  • Your main headings should use the keyword(s).
  • Your subheadings should use the keywords.
  • Different color type, bold, and italic make the keyword count for more.
  • The page text should say those keywords 6 to 10 times, in natural text.
  • The metatags, that is page title and description and keyword fields should have the key word(s) in there but in common language, not lists of the exact same words.
  • The page url ideally uses that page's main keyword. A url like www.divineopenings.com/books has zero SEO value, but www.divineopenings.com/spiritual-enlightenment-book helped me get to the top of Google searches for spiritual books. A url like  www.divineopenings.com/faq has no value, but www.divineopenings.com/spiritual-awakening-facts helps you if spiritual awakening is one of your main keywords.
  • Live links on the page should contain those keywords, and if the pages they link to use the keywords as part of the page url it counts more.
  • Title tag your photos and graphics using a keyword or two.
  • Your description will show up in the organic search results, so it must appeal to search engines, but also to humans.
  • Never hide or disguise keywords, or try to "pack" keywords in artificially. Google actually penalizes such "black hat SEO." Their goal is high quality and relevant search results for their clients.

Use keywords they are looking for. Spiritual healing is what people THINK they want, so it draws…… but then in your copy you explain why Divine Openings is BEYOND spiritual healing, and why you don't need spiritual healing, and on and on till they get it. It's a bait and switch for their benefit.

You could eventually get on page one in organic search results if you use city keywords with your main keywords. If your town is small you can get there really fast.

Again, a phrase is a keyword. Healing is too broad, spiritual healing narrows it down. Longer keyword phrases are not as competitive. A search for healing might get someone 39,765,300 search results, where a search for spiritual healing might get only 200,400 results. So you still have some work to do to get on page one, but you can do it if you want to.

Here are keywords I'd like to go for, but can't do it all. I demonstrate how to narrow your keyword by making it longer, more specific, and for your town:

spiritual healing (so put your town with it)
spiritual healings fort collins
spiritual healing sessions fort collins
spiritual awakening your town
spiritual courses your town
spiritual coach your town
spiritual counselor your town
spiritual success coach your town

Pick one at first, and put that exact keyword or exact phrase all over your copy, use it in your page urls, metatags, title tags, etc. tons of times, and go for it specifically. It can take months to get up to even page three unless you're diligent and get good at this fun game.

Then once you're on page one for that keyword + your town, pick a second one and go for that one. Keywords in your metatags are separate by a comma.

And yes, by city in an average size city you can get on page one of regular google organic search results much faster.

Going for any keyword by itself, without a location, is competing WORLDWIDE for that keyword. In a worldwide search for my main keyword, my site is on page one, position 2, right after Wikipedia--amazing-- but I have a massive and mature site, and I work on it all the time.

I am also on page two for spiritual retreats california.
You could be on page one soon for "spiritual healing your city" or "spiritual healing retreats your city." Please don't do "spiritual retreats california". Be more specific and spread out!

We're on page one for spiritual enlightenment retreats california, a rather obscure keyword that not many people search for, but hey--it's page one for anyone who searches it! Better to go for page one on a longer, more obscure, less used keyword than end up on page 96 or 1,400,854 for a widely searched and highly competed for keyword.

That's what I do. If you have a charge or judgments about marketing, I suggest you get over it. It's just getting the word out. If people don't know you're there, they can't call you.

FreeConference.com lets you give conference calls with no charge! It's NEVER messed up for me, and the sound is great. You can give free introductory talks or paid talks with classes.

Local Publications

Local metaphysical magazines often let you write an article a month if you run an ad. Ads must be steady, not spotty. This works. It launched me locally in Austin. If you can't write, use our Free Articles at http://www.divineopenings.com/spiritual-awakening-articles, name me as Author, and say you were trained by me. It gives you credibility. They are eager for good articles to fill their pages.

Get creative about offerings!

I once gave just mini-phone-sessions with the book (and Crystal does this too.) Three for $75, paid up front, and we only talked for 5 minutes, set intentions, and did the opening. Some came back for bigger courses or sessions later.

You can do group calls, psychic fairs, expos, holistic fairs (search the net in your area), speak at networking meetings, conventions, women's groups, professional groups, and festivals. Tailor it to your audience.

Keep it inexpensive till you get really clear, and get good at the logistics. You are experimenting.

That's exactly what I did. Start small, take many consistent tiny steps, and grow it!
What do you want to do?

Getting started:

Someone asked for advice. She's in blue and I'm in black below:
I am thinking of looking for an investor to help me get going, buy some books etc. Let The Presence decide how your money comes! (Free is nice..... giggle.) Investor? Maybe.... may be an easier way. Don't decide how. (Someone responded within 2 days and paid for her booth, and offered to travel there to help her without her having to borrow money or pay back an investor.)

There is a huge Psychic Fair March 7, 8 & 9 that I really need to have a booth at. The cost is 638.00 and I have set the intention for the money to come to me. I know I'll need alot of books for that as well. What are your thoughts on this? How does this feel to you?

You're right, Cindy, it is coming, AND it usually comes STEP BY STEP, not usually all in one fell swoop. If it did come that way, you would not be able to handle it! I know! I've had to turn things down till I was ready, like Kate's international mailout. I told her I was not ready! I knew I had to hire someone, get an online course created and up, and it took me three months to get that even passably started, and I was already moving very fast in good momentum.

I started MUCH smaller than this, folks. I would not have done a $638 fair booth at the start. I wasn't ready for that. I didn't have my talk down. You may be ready, but slower is sometimes faster, so keep it low stress and low risk unless you can take risks without worrying about the money! Stress increases your resistance!

I made money the first month I got back from India, enough to pay the bills, without spending hardly anything... going to meetings, giving them fliers printed at home ...... and giving inexpensive Divine Openings to hundreds, with the book.

Michael showed up, and put me in the magazine, but that was because I was primed.... I was already out there rockin' and giving Divine Openings everywhere.

My overhead was zero then. Now my overhead is about $5000 a month. But I never incurred debt. I only take steps as I can pay for them in cash, up a step, up a step, up a step at a time. Easy does it. Ask, act, and let go!

Follow your guidance, but there are events where you can make your mistakes much cheaper. I did $50 booths, not $500 booths at first. Search them out. They're everywhere. They're small, but you will do just as well AT FIRST at them, without big risks, as you develop your materials, your talks, your booth approach. See at first, you're just getting your words down, your posters, etc. You'll have trial and error at first. I did!

My message was not yet honed early on enough make back $600 overhead plus profit. I made about $400 per weekend and felt GREAT. You have to be pretty darn clear and have pretty compelling offers to make $1200 or more at one of those things. I still only make about $1400 a weekend at them, but much more comes in later from it, because I have a mailing list service and send newsletters.

Make sure they have that book,
and they come back, generate word of mouth, etc.

Your expo talks will generate more people to your booth than any other thing.
Make your talk great, but it's your energy and confidence and congruence that will do it! Have a helper to sign people up, get them on your mailing list, and register them.

You'll learn by experience how to present it, to make signs that attract people, package your offerings, what to say when they walk up, and be who you uniquely are!  You learn this by trying things, some of which will work and others won't.

Include in your talk:
--What will they get or do at the booth? I gave a private session with book for $75, and then evolved to doing small groups in the booth (with book) for $50 each, minimum 2 people. I once had seven people in a group IN MY BOOTH!
--And then what do they do next?
--Give them a step by step, or clear expectation of what to do.
--Is it clear to you... and them?
--When people say "Do you have a website?" at an event, they are not ready, they don't want to do it, or you're not clear, and they want an out. Offer to put them on your email list, but their best chance to say yes is right there.

When you practice explaining it one on one or in small talks, you find out what is clear and compelling to them. When more people start saying yes to you, you're clear.

Till then, you might want to measure how much you spend to get in front of them.

******************************************

Listen to your guidance. If your energy is open and flowing, go for it. If not, ask yourself:
Can you borrow, or spend that money, and go have fun at the event and stay out of stress about it?
Many people borrow or overspend to start a business and then are so stressed they repel people and don't have any fun!
Easier to start it slow, create from nothing, and let The Divine do the heavy lifting.

For some people: Less stress, less risk = easier to stay at a higher vibration.
Sloooooow down, build one step at a time, and savor each tiny step. Each new client, each tiny talk you do.

If you need another "job" to stay relaxed and feel secure, then get one! The name of the game is be relaxed and happy. Take care of yourself and your bills!

You can still do Divine Openings and other work, and your bills being taken care of will take all the resistance out of the equation .... plus you'll meet more people at a job than you will sitting at home. No need to let finances go way downhill instead of letting money in however you can at the moment.

*****************************************

Here's how I'd suggest you prioritize, for those of you who are going to do Divine Openings formally:

1. Get books, always have them, order ahead of time.

2. Qualify to be in our directory.
We have a Givers-Home page just for all of you Givers at www.DivineOpenings.com/givers-home. You'll pay very low monthly dues and with other Givers get good traffic. Read the guidelines about getting in there.

3. Print cards and fliers clearly stating just about 3 offerings (more is too confusing at first) --  3-session private session packages, a course or two, etc.  Don't ever print anything in bulk unless you know they will all be distributed. Fliers are actually a lot of work for little return. The web is better, and in person promotion, like talks, are better.

You'll change them constantly until they WORK, then you'll change them again because what you're doing changes.

Find ways to embed your gift in
your regular job! People overlook this.

4. Get live local clients first! Teach small group series to hone your message. Promote bring-a-friend offers. Do one on one's to hone your skills and your clarity. Take all my online courses. I gave free Secret movie showings to bring 30 people in at a time, but now that is OLD NEWS. When your clients begin to fly in 3-6 sessions or one course series, you know you're getting very clear.

5. Speak free to small groups (I used to do about one per week), put free listings in local publications, do small psychic fairs at centers, etc. I would speak to a tiny group of 14 people and 3 would end up clients. If you're an excellent writer, write articles for local publications. Post articles on online article sites. Post on people's blogs.

Write things anyone can use right now, not the same old platitudes. It should not be advertising for you. Most won't print "advertisement disguised as editorial". But if it's good, and clear, people will contact you. If anything doesn't bring clients, stop doing it and focus on what works.

6. Collect every email of every interested person you meet. Put a pad at your booth for them to sign up even if you're busy. Take a pad to parties and invite people to sign up for your newsletter. NEVER spam or put people on a list without their permission.

7. Build an email list. You will want a double-opt-in automated system, or spam filters will stop you cold. www.aweber.com is good for that.

Keeping people on your list is harder now with so much email. Send out news once or twice a month, and make it VERY interesting so they stay on your list. You can borrow my blog pieces or articles if you don't write very clearly, just credit me as the author.

Make your articles about things they can use immediately today.

Always have links to the book and your courses, and your events a few months out in your emails. If you promote the existing online course you can make money instantly without doing anything. Or include it with your live courses. I made a product where you only pay $50 for it when you give it to them. Adjust your price to cover it. Do not give away the store.

8. Get your website going as you do all of this, but don't let it dominate your time. A website that you're not actively driving traffic to is a waste of time and money. Don't use a website to hide behind and sit in your office!!!

9. Sell our courses. You can make money selling our online courses. We will create a special product for YOU of each course, and your people can register through your link, and you can make 40% of the registration. It's a lot of admin for us so we take 60%. They will call US when they can't log in or need help. No work for you at all.

Only ask us to do this for you if you will absolutely actively sell them. This is work for us.

More info on why I recommend what I do:

You begin face to face, person to person, with posters, flyers, networking meetings, parties, socializing, then word of mouth kicks in, then the website kicks in. Of course miracles happen, and follow your guidance.

Get out and mingle!!!!!!!!!!
I've taught sales and business building.
I saw other consultants buy expensive stationery, cards, brochures, fancy websites, and then go broke because they thought that was going to magically produce live clients while they hid out in their house working on their website.

So many people resist getting out in front of people ..... the ones that fail resist it ..... the ones that make it see PEOPLE all day, or at least several times each week, networking, parties, events, fairs, centers, just wandering around talking to people!
You must get in front of people if you want to succeed.
Get over the fear or whatever resistance it is, and go talk with people!
Have fun, be fun, and they will be attracted to you.

When starting a new business, I always networked, spent nothing, printed up my own materials that changed and evolved constantly, and was in the black from day one.

Websites are one of the biggest myths out there about building a business.
They work best AFTER the business is rolling, just to support it, and then they kick in gradually as revenue generating tools.

They do add credibility to you when people go there. You can get that by being in our Givers Directory and sending people there, if you don't think you'll do all the work to make your own site generate traffic.

I've started many successful businesses and none of them got started up by a website.
The business and you support the website at first. The site supports you only after you have sent a LOT of people there and refined the heck out of it, Search Engine Optimized it and run google ads, after mastering those skills. (Unless you have a gigantic marketing budget and know how to use it.)

Focus on people, and giving, and giving, and giving Divine Openings.

Do the free talks, anywhere anyone will let you but don't give a free Divine Opening in a free talk. Give it after to those who choose to sign up and stay another forty minutes.

They would feel so blissed out they will think they are DONE! And they will not come to your booth, and they will not get the support to follow it up with. They may or may not come back after one free Divine Opening because they don't know what is going on.

Also it seems to them to have no value, and they'll ascribe the big changes to something else that did cost something.

HOW it all happens is God's business, but be out there where people can find you --they are looking for YOU! Kate, who publicized me worldwide, found me because I had made myself very visible, and someone sent her my link. I was not working on my website much at all until I saw it was time to be able to handle more people, and handle what Kate was going to send there.

  • Just get out there and follow the leads and trails and signs you get.
  • Get out and have some fun, go to events and parties, see people, then do what flows easily.
  • Don't sit at home working on your website and your materials.

Let me offer some inspiration: I don't have to "do anything" to find clients anymore. I trickled to speaking at a few events per year, then that trickled to not having to at all. I have the luxury of sitting here tweaking the website and letting The Divine do the heavy lifting--and travelling.

But for 18 months I was out there face to face with people all the time.

People said they saw my face everywhere, live, on fliers, events, fairs, etc.
Then I got pretty invisible locally except for the magazine, but they'd mention my articles as if it was yesterday they read it, because it stuck with them!

We'll have another Givers call soon.

Collect your ideas.
